About The Position

The “Intern - Event Planning & Development” will provide direct assistance to the Director of Event Planning staff member on the Development team. They will provide assistance and complete miscellaneous planning and hands-on tasks related to fundraising events essential to developing, expanding, and stewarding philanthropic support for One More Child.

Requirements

  • Enrolled and Actively Taking College Courses Towards Obtaining a Degree in an Event Planning, Event Management, Event Leadership, Tourism, Hospitality or related degree program.
  • Non-profit event and/or fundraising experience, or at least 2 years of professional work experience.
  • Microsoft Suite programs experience.
  • Ability to build effective professional working relationships internally and externally.
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written; attention to detail, and ability to multi–task and stay organized under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to solve problems, come up with creative solutions, and implement them.
  • Adaptability for fast paced environments that require thinking on your feet.
  • Have had a personal conversion experience with Jesus Christ and been scripturally baptized.
  • Possess a sense of commitment to ministry through vocation.
  • Hold a sincere desire to seek God and His kingdom.
  • Demonstrate personal and devotional habits and practices such as Bible study, prayer, and daily meditation.
  • Be a member of a New Testament, evangelical church in the local community and attend regularly.
  • Engage in witness activities as a normal part of life.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates or Bachelors Degree (or nearing completion of) in an Event Planning, Event Management, Event Leadership, Tourism, Hospitality or related program.
  • 2-3 years of event planning and/or event management experience (or other related professional work experience).
  • Non-profit event and/or fundraising experience.
  • Asana experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with planning and supporting donor engagement events, such as grand opening/ribbon cutting celebrations, ground breaking, donor receptions, President’s dinners, and key fundraising centric events.
  • Support event preparation, on-site execution, and post-event follow-up tasks.
  • Help coordinate event logistics such as scheduling vendors, ordering supplies and materials, and communicating key details to staff.
  • Track rsvps, attendance details, sponsorships, and event information for the Development team staff.
  • Collaborate with staff across multiple departments to support effective fundraising and communication efforts.
  • Assist with recruiting, coordinating, and supporting volunteers during the preparation and execution of events.
  • Gain hands-on experience in nonprofit fundraising, event planning, and donor engagement.
