When you join Design Group as an Buyout/Materials Management Intern, you are joining a team that will challenge you and position you for growth. In this role, you will support our team on a high-profile data center project focusing on materials management, gaining hands-on experience with supply tracking and inventory systems in a fast-paced engineering environment. You will partner with seasoned leaders, technical specialists, and subject matter experts to deliver the highest quality solutions to our clients with consistency and accuracy. What You’ll Do You'll contribute to meaningful project work that helps our clients improve how they operate. With the support of experienced teammates, you'll expand your professional and technical skills while working on real materials management challenges that make an impact every day. You will: Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records for construction materials and equipment Support the receiving, tracking, and documentation of materials on-site Help reconcile physical inventory with system data and update records accordingly Collaborate with procurement, warehouse, and project management teams to ensure materials are available as needed Assist in organizing and labeling inventory in accordance with project requirements Participate in cycle counts and audits, identifying discrepancies and reporting findings Utilize inventory management software and Excel to track and report inventory status Contribute to process improvement initiatives and documentation efforts Work both independently and alongside project teams to support capital projects and facility operations Collaborate with engineers, vendors, contractors, and site teams to gather information, support project execution, and maintain clear communication Travel as needed to client sites to support materials coordination or on-site inventory activities under close mentorship from experienced team members Make a meaningful impact by conducting yourself with integrity, contributing to a supportive team culture, and strengthening the relationships we build with our clients What You’ll Bring You're eager to learn, grow, and contribute within a team that values people first. You Have The ability to organize and support multiple project responsibilities while staying flexible and attentive to detail Strong communication and interpersonal skills that help you collaborate effectively with teammates, leaders, clients, and vendor partners Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with inventory management software is a plus Basic knowledge of or interest in materials management principles, supply tracking, and inventory systems Co-op, internship, or project experience related to materials management, logistics, construction, or engineering (preferred) Exposure to or interest in high-tech environments such as data centers, semiconductor, pharmaceutical, consumer products, or large-scale construction projects (preferred) The ability to work on-site at the data center project location, if required A willingness to travel for on-site project support, team meetings, and company-sponsored learning opportunities Enrollment in a bachelor's program in construction management, industrial engineering, supply chain, mechanical engineering, or a related technical discipline Our culture and commitment to our people is what sets us apart. Requirements
