This position is for a hands-on, detail-oriented Rework Technician Intern to support the production line by repairing and reworking printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs). This role is ideal for someone interested in electronics, soldering, troubleshooting, and learning how real manufacturing environments operate. As a key contributor, the intern will help reduce repair backlog, diagnose PCBA failures, and support RMA processing, all while gaining valuable industry experience.

Requirements

  • Interest in electronics, hardware engineering, manufacturing, or related fields.
  • Basic soldering experience (school, hobby, or prior work).
  • Strong attention to detail with good manual dexterity.
  • Ability to follow technical instructions, diagrams, and repair procedures.
  • Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and ability to stay organized.
  • Reliable and proactive—ready to step in where needed.
  • Candidates must have valid work authorization in the United States at the time of application.

Responsibilities

  • Perform soldering and rework on surface‑mount (SMT) and through‑hole PCB components.
  • Diagnose failures using meters, scopes, and production test equipment.
  • Process customer RMA returns by evaluating, repairing, and documenting results.
  • Support production technicians by quickly resolving failed units to keep workflows moving.
  • Maintain accurate repair logs, including root cause, replaced components, and testing notes.
  • Collaborate with engineering on escalated or unusual board failures.
  • Follow ESD, IPC, and internal quality workmanship standards.
  • Assist in reducing the repair stockpile and improving production efficiency.
