USMA West Point AIAD Cadet Program - Intern Engineer
About The Position
The USMA West Point AIAD Cadet Program offers cadets immersive, out-of-classroom experiences that reinforce academic learning through practical application. By working alongside leading corporations and organizations, cadets gain firsthand exposure to industry practices, strengthen critical leadership skills, and build meaningful professional relationships. At General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS), you’ll be part of the team that helps heroes make a true impact by developing mission-critical systems. This internship program provides participants with training and job-shadowing opportunities to gain skills to meet the specific needs of the organization and prepare them for the GDMS mission of providing smarter mission-critical systems and products to defense, civil government, intelligence, and cybersecurity customers. The program includes professional development, networking with leadership, and training focused on GDMS leadership expectations, company history, customer/stakeholder engagement, product and service overview, and core job responsibilities. It aims to offer transitioning service members a rewarding opportunity to learn from the GDMS team.
Requirements
- Enrolled in the USMA West Point AIAD Cadet Program
- Clear understanding of engineering concepts, principles, theories, and technical standards
- Creative thinker with ability to grasp and apply new information quickly and handle increasing responsibilities with growing complexity
- Team player who thrives in collaborative environments and revels in team success
- Commitment to ongoing professional development for yourself and others
Responsibilities
- Receive training and job-shadowing opportunities to gain skills to meet the specific needs of the organization.
- Be prepared to meet the GDMS mission in “providing smarter mission critical systems and products to defense, civil government, intelligence and cybersecurity customers”.
- Participate in professional development, networking with leadership, and training focused on GDMS leadership expectations, company history, customer / stakeholder engagement, product and service overview, and core job responsibilities.
