About The Position

Ayar Labs is seeking a motivated Digital Verification intern to help develop, deploy, and maintain AI-powered development agents and workflows for digital design verification. The intern will work closely with verification engineers to integrate AI capabilities into existing verification processes and improve engineering productivity, automation, and verification quality.

The internship term is May to August 2027, and the position is on-site at the San Jose office. The candidate should be actively pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. Ayar Labs does not provide immigration support except for F-1 students, or relocation support for this position.

Requirements

• Strong programming skills in Python.
• Basic understanding of digital logic, RTL design, and computer architecture.
• Familiarity with Verilog or SystemVerilog.
• Experience working in a Linux development environment.
• Basic knowledge of Git and software development workflows.
• Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to clearly document work and communicate technical findings.
• Actively pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.

Nice To Haves

• Coursework or project experience in digital verification.
• Familiarity with SystemVerilog testbenches, UVM, assertions, functional coverage, or regression testing.
• Experience with large language models, AI coding assistants, or LLM APIs.
• Familiarity with AI-agent concepts such as tool calling, multi-agent coordination, retrieval-augmented generation, or Model Context Protocol.
• Experience developing automation scripts or analyzing simulation logs and regression results.
• Understanding of methods for evaluating AI output quality, accuracy, and reliability.
• Interest in applying generative AI to semiconductor design and verification.
• A solid foundation in either digital verification or AI, and demonstrated ability to quickly learn the other.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain AI agents and agent-based development teams to support digital verification workflows.
• Build AI-assisted tools for technical documentation creation, updates, and maintenance.
• Automate verification test plan generation, testbench development, and test creation.
• Integrate AI agents with simulation environments for automated test execution, failure analysis, and debugging.
• Develop AI-assisted functional and code coverage analysis to identify verification gaps.
• Implement AI-based code auditing and review to improve code quality and verification completeness.
• Evaluate and continuously improve AI agent accuracy, reliability, and effectiveness.
