About The Position

The American Heart Association's Internship Program provides college students with hands-on experience in various facets of a non-profit, voluntary health organization. The Nation of Lifesavers team is seeking an intern with an interest in public health or marketing and communications, including program development, implementation, and evaluation. Ideal candidates will possess strong skills in program and project management and foundational research. Requirements

  • College Seniors and Graduate students studying non-profit management, business, marketing, or communications preferred.
  • Demonstrated skills in research, such as market research.
  • Experience preferred in working with multiple data sources and visualizations.
  • In office work 3 times a week.
  • Intern must be located in the Greater Philadelphia area.
  • Demonstrated skills in written communications, including the ability to translate dense content into easy-to-read and understand versions and formats.
  • Ability to build and cultivate relationships with internal and external partners.
  • Demonstrated skills in effective one-on-one and group communications.
  • Ability to deal professionally in a corporate or non-profit environment and assume responsibility for guiding projects and programs.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and willingness to support administrative tasks as needed.
  • Excellent proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Proficient in Canva.
  • Reliable Wi-Fi connection.
  • Minimum availability of 20 hrs/wk, M-F between the hours of 9 am-5 pm.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship, now or in the future.
  • For any roles working remotely, the work must also be performed inside the United States, not in a foreign country.

  • Experience is Salesforce is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Research existing campaigns and initiatives focused on sudden cardiac arrest to assess the competitive landscape.
  • Analyze research and propose a tiered approach for a recognition program to leadership.
  • Assist with layout, testing, and updates of dashboards for leadership reporting.
  • Maintain partner lists, track recognition progress, and update internal dashboards.
  • Draft communications and coordinate recognition materials for distribution.
