The Digital Solutions – Applications Developer Internship offers students the chance to collaborate with experienced developers, supporting and enhancing client-facing, web-based applications. Interns will engage in real projects, gaining practical technical experience and developing professional skills within a collaborative environment. This internship is based in Houston, TX.

Requirements

• Foundational knowledge of SQL and web-based application development
• Exposure to or coursework in JavaScript (and libraries such as jQuery), web programming languages, and databases
• Seeking a Masters or Bachelors degree
• Basic understanding of program design and software development processes

Nice To Haves

• Opportunity to gain experience in mobile application development
• Opportunity to gain experience in reporting tools (SSRS or Crystal Reports)
• Opportunity to gain experience in geospatial APIs (Google Maps, ESRI JS)

Responsibilities

• Support and enhance web-based applications under supervision
• Write and modify scripts using Structured Query Language (SQL)
• Assist with maintaining and updating source code repositories
• Follow established documentation and development standards
• Participate in the creation and execution of test plans
• Track, report, and help resolve software bugs
• Gain experience with CSS frameworks like Bootstrap
• Use source control systems (e.g., Git, SVN, TFS) for version management
• Learn and apply web programming languages (e.g., JavaScript, PHP, .NET)
