About The Position

This is a paid college student intern or Co-Op position that supports the Design Engineering Department. This position is temporary; LCEC employee benefits are not available to interns in this position. This internship combines productive work for the benefit of the E/O Division with educational experiences for the intern. In addition to working on projects supporting Design & Engineering, the intern may spend time shadowing and assisting employees in the Transmission, Substation, and Distribution departments.

Requirements

• Incumbent must be enrolled in an institution of post-secondary education and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in an Engineering field.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office computer programs.

Nice To Haves

• Pursuing B.S. degree in Power or Electrical Engineering.
• Prior Engineering intern/co-op experience.
• Strong interest in pursuing a career in Electric Utility industry.

Responsibilities

• Organize transmission drawings.
• Assist with standards development.
• Assist with assembly unit development.
• Assist with work order analysis.
• Perform quality assurance checks for design projects.
• Track and document project progress.
• Maintain effective working relationships with employees and customers at all levels within LCEC.
• Ensure smooth operations, productive communications, and effective understanding during all interpersonal contacts.
• Provide current and accurate information to all requesters, courteously and in a timely manner.
