About The Position

The American Bankers Association (ABA) is seeking an Intern, Cybersecurity Policy Analyst for a paid opportunity to work with one of the biggest trade associations in Washington, DC. This extremely selective opportunity provides students with the opportunity to do substantial work in various divisions across ABA, connect with leadership, build a network, and make a difference. The internship runs from June 7, 2027, to August 13, 2027, with a pay rate of $30/hour for graduate students. The position is full-time, 37.5 hours per week.

Requirements

  • Excellent analytical and communication skills (written and oral).
  • Knowledge of the financial sector and regulatory requirements.
  • Desire to learn about emerging technology and its impact on cybersecurity and operational resilience.
  • Graduate Student (expected graduation date of December 2027 or later)

Responsibilities

  • Research, analyze, and communicate potential risks associated with emerging technologies leveraged by the financial services sector (e.g. AI, quantum computing, cloud computing).
  • Assist in the development of surveys.
  • Compile and summarize key findings of surveys.
  • Contribute to the development of comment letters, congressional testimony, and articles.
  • Assist in updating presentations.
