About The Position

The Cultural Activities Coordinator Intern will work under the supervision of the Cultural Activities Coordinator to assist with the planning and coordination of cultural and religious programming for inmates within the correctional facility. This role will also provide support with routine operational tasks in a secure correctional environment, offering the intern an opportunity to gain hands-on experience and exposure to correctional management practices.

Requirements

Applicant must be enrolled as a part-time/full-time student at a college, university, or technical institute at the time they apply.
By the start of the internship, the student should have completed one year (nine months) of their chosen program.
Successful applicant(s) will be required to undergo a background investigation.
Offers of employment are conditional upon successful completion of a drug screening.

Responsibilities

Assist in routine tasks related to controlling and supervising inmates under staff direction.
Support administrative tasks related to personnel management and program operations.
Assist with gathering information for investigations under supervision.
Help identify and document potential areas for improvement in processes as directed.
Support conflict resolution efforts by providing administrative assistance during problem-solving sessions.
Assist with compiling data or preparing reports to support policy and procedure reviews.
Observe investigative processes and assist with organizing findings.
