About The Position
The General Counsel Internship Program offers the unique experience of providing exposure to issues that face law departments in general and also property casualty insurers. The Internship Associate will be immersed in collaborative client assignments in disciplines that include compliance, underwriting, claims litigation, cybersecurity and marketing.
Requirements
- Registered student in good standing with accredited law school
- Excellent written and oral communications skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- High level of follow-through and dedication to detail and timely delivery
- Ability to work both independently, with moderate supervision and in a team environment
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of the insurance industry preferred
Responsibilities
- Prepare legal memoranda
- Respond to subpoenas
- Assist with regulatory inquiries and responses
- Analyze consumer complaints and edit/draft responses
- Assist with review/drafting of various agreements including licensing and vendor agreements, NDAs, MSAs and producer service agreements
- Work with team to understand evolving compliance issues and develop compliance strategies
- Develop necessary skills to act as corporate counsel
- Other special projects
