About The Position

Labcorp is a global leader in diagnostic testing and drug development solutions, helping healthcare providers, researchers, and patients make informed decisions that advance care. This internship provides hands-on exposure to corporate communications within a global life sciences organization and offers meaningful opportunities to contribute to real-world communications initiatives. The position is available in Durham, NC, Burlington, NC, or remotely, with a hybrid work schedule of three days on-site and two days remote, totaling 40 hours per week. This is part of Labcorp’s 2026 Global Internship Program, an 11-week paid internship running from June 1, 2026, to August 14, 2026. Interns will work on impactful projects, gain real-world experience, and support Labcorp's mission to improve health and improve lives. The program includes enterprise-wide learning experiences, leadership exposure, an immersive in-person intern event, senior leader speaker sessions, continuous opportunities for connection and growth, engagement with employee resource groups, and dedicated mentoring. The Communications Department partners with clinical operations and corporate centers of excellence to increase Labcorp’s visibility, enhance its reputation, and drive employee engagement.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or Business related field
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated interest in a corporate communications career, particularly within healthcare or life sciences
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
  • Embraces diverse ways of thinking through collaboration and partnership

Nice To Haves

  • 0 – 3 months experience with digital communications tools or social media platforms
  • Preferred candidates are rising juniors and seniors (Dec 2026 through June 2028 graduation) who are currently enrolled in a relevant degree program; however, all current students pursuing related studies are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Communications team on a broad range of communications, including internal, external and executive communications
  • Assist with writing, editing, planning, scheduling and general support of communications initiatives
  • Work closely with the Communications team members to gain insight into Labcorp, Communications, Marketing and other areas of the business
  • Participate in professional development workshops to enhance business acumen and professional presence
