Requirements

  • Currently enrolled as a third or fourth year undergraduate student in an accredited post-secondary mechanical or industrial engineering program
  • Theoretical knowledge of product/machine design techniques, practical experience is a benefit
  • Theoretical knowledge of manufacturing processes, practical experience is a benefit
  • Knowledge of CAD software (2D, AutoCad, Solidworks)
  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills
  • Strong technical and computer skills, specifically in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to multitask effectively and have good time management skills
  • Adhere to and follow all company and supplier health & safety policies, practices and rules for the workplace
  • Comply with legislative requirements of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and Workplace Safety & Insurance Act, including the Duties of a worker, Supervisor and Duties of the Employer as outlined in the Occupational Health & Safety Act, s. 27 and 28 and all other applicable legal requirements

Responsibilities

  • Perform ergonomics evaluation of workstations (cycle time analysis, workflow analysis)
  • Evaluate and identify best paths for internal material flow
  • Participate in the design of various mechanical parts/tools
  • Support Mississauga Seating Systems’ Manufacturing Engineers with their duties
  • Keeping appropriate records off all pertinent work being assigned
  • Assist in development of engineering department procedures related to design and electronic design database.
  • Maintain strict adherence to company and engineering department regulations and procedures
  • Participate in continuous improvement and assists in its implementation on an ongoing basis
  • Other duties as required.
