About The Position

Ramboll is seeking interns for its Summer 2027 internship program at its Syracuse, New York offices. Participants will be assigned a mentor and gain experience in one or more practice areas, working on a variety of projects to broaden their understanding within their field of interest. The work environment will be primarily in the office with potential for field work. Interns will also participate in web-based interactive workshops with other Ramboll interns across the U.S. Qualified candidates will be contacted for virtual interviews. Interns will be paid hourly and will be overtime eligible. Housing and relocation expenses are the responsibility of the intern.

Requirements

  • Currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. No sponsorship is available.
  • Working towards a B.S or M.S degree in Chemical, Civil, Geological, or Environmental Engineering.
  • Interest in pursuing a career in environmental/civil engineering or consulting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Basic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, spreadsheets, technology, and tools.
  • Excellent organization and time management.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting.

Nice To Haves

  • Candidates with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above are strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Work with multiple project managers to help develop client deliverables (reports, permit applications and technical analyses).
  • Participate on project teams to evaluate remediation and environmental control technologies and develop plans for site remediation.
  • Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations and analysis.
  • Support preparation of remedial investigation/feasibility/design plans, special provisions, and cost estimates.
  • Support preparation of engineering design drawings and technical specifications following design, construction, and government standards.
  • Participation in troubleshooting of remedial systems in operation, maintenance, and monitoring phase.
  • Reviewing and summarizing regulatory requirements.
  • Visitation of jobsites to gain field experience, broaden background, and develop practical engineering skills.
  • Preparation or review of design deliverables using design software such as AutoCAD or GIS.
  • May periodically assist Ramboll staff in the office with administrative functions; learn what it means to be a civil or environmental engineer and trusted advisor to our clients.
