Requirements

  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in biology, Biochemistry, Bioinformatics, or a related scientific field.
  • Foundational understanding of laboratory techniques, basic chemistry, and safe bench practices.
  • Evidence of effective problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
  • Appropriate verbal and written communication skills to function within a professional R&D environment.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and evidence of strong teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

  • Benchmarking of Developability Assays (HPLC & AC-SINs) to enable standardization activities.
  • Antigen Characterization & Quality Control: Perform critical gatekeeping steps utilizing Western blot, SDS-PAGE, and HPLC to verify the purity and identity of starting materials.
  • Early Screening Execution: Conduct ELISA assays for lead identification, aiding the transition of discovery projects from the design phase to active laboratory testing.
  • Data Management: Register antibody and antigen candidates into the electronic lab notebook, ensuring accurate, foundational documentation that bridges bench science with digital data management.
  • Developability Assessment: Evaluate the physical stability and fitness of antibody candidates by running thermal melting (Tm) and aggregation temperature (Tagg) assays.
  • Advanced Workflow Support: Assist with the precise preparation tasks required for surface plasmon resonance (SPR), including buffer formulation and plate layouts.
  • Team Collaboration: Provide high-value support to the characterization team to effectively onboard and validate new discovery projects at Specifica.
