About The Position

The Global Procurement team is an integral engine to Micron’s growth, delivering best-in-class total cost and supply chain resiliency through innovative predictive capabilities, risk analysis and a focus on sustainability and diversity. As a Category Supplier Management Intern, you will be learning about developing a category strategy for run categories, validating strategies with Global and Regional Category Managers/s and the respective internal partners and stakeholders. You will be assisting with strategic sourcing initiatives, plan and complete negotiations using supplier and industry analysis, benchmark and cost management to include employing artificial intelligence for efficiency opportunities.

Requirements

  • 0-2 years of experience through internships, coursework, research projects, leadership activities, or other relevant experiences in procurement, supply chain, business, engineering, or a related field.
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Project Management, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, with an expected graduation date after August 2026.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and develop actionable recommendations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other business productivity tools.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous internship, co-op, or project experience in procurement, supply chain, sourcing, operations, or business analytics.
  • Experience analyzing data and developing insights using tools such as Excel, Power BI, SQL, Python, or similar technologies.
  • Knowledge of procurement, supplier management, strategic sourcing, or supply chain concepts.
  • Interest in applying artificial intelligence, automation, or digital technologies to business processes.
  • Demonstrated leadership through academic projects, student organizations, volunteer activities, or work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Support category strategy development through market research, supplier analysis, and spend assessments for assigned procurement categories.
  • Assist with strategic sourcing activities, including supplier evaluation, benchmarking, cost analysis, and negotiation preparation.
  • Gather and analyze market intelligence, pricing trends, and supplier performance data to support procurement decision-making.
  • Collaborate with internal partners and procurement professionals to find opportunities for cost savings, operational efficiencies, and supplier performance improvements.
  • Explore and recommend opportunities to employ artificial intelligence and data-driven insights within procurement and category management processes.
