About The Position

Hoyle Tanner is seeking a motivated intern to join its Internship Program in the Bridge Group within the Ground Transportation Division. This is a paid internship, anticipated to start in May 2027, with earlier start dates available on a limited basis. The position may be based in the Chelmsford, Massachusetts; Burlington, Vermont; or Portsmouth, New Hampshire office. The intern will gain hands-on experience with bridge design standards, engineering software, construction practices, and professional engineering procedures while working under the guidance of senior engineers.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a BSCE program is preferred.
• EIT certification is preferred, or the ability to obtain it.

Nice To Haves

• Experience using AutoCAD and Civil 3D.

Responsibilities

• Assist engineers with planning, design, inspection, and construction support for bridge projects.
• Prepare CADD drawings and contract plans; perform engineering calculations, quantity takeoffs, and cost estimates.
• Assist with bridge inspections and site visits for projects under construction.
• Compile technical reports and project documentation.
• Support project meetings and coordination efforts.
