About The Position

Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP is looking to hire an Asset Management Intern to support the Asset Management department with project-based administrative work. Willkie is an elite international law firm with approximately 1,300 lawyers located across 16 offices in six countries. An ideal Asset Management Intern will be in the process of pursuing an undergraduate degree in business, finance, or a similar field with an interest in pursuing a career in these areas. Candidates should be intellectually curious, adapt to changing priorities, and maintain confidential information at all times. Additionally, candidates will have strong computer skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. This is a great opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience in a law firm environment. Candidates should be available to work for three to six months. A time commitment of 35 hours per week during the summer, a minimum of 15 hours per week during the school semester, and a maximum of 20 hours per week during the school semester are expected. The exact duration of the internship will be based on business needs.

Requirements

  • Must be in the process of completing an AS/BS undergraduate degree with a strong GPA
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, especially with a strong navigation of Excel
  • Ability to have strong organizational and time management while maintaining a strong attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to build interpersonal relationships
  • Ability to sit at a desk most of the working day and walk short distances
  • Needs manual dexterity, speed and accuracy in handling office equipment
  • Ability to work efficiently and accurately in an atmosphere of frequent interruption
  • Ability to work in close proximity to other individuals
  • Ability to carry light [to moderate] objects, e.g., files, small objects and supplies a short distance.
  • Must be able to lift, carry and move objects up to 15 lbs

Nice To Haves

  • Exposed to HTML and CSS, proficiency a plus
  • Previous office experience a plus
  • Experience using generative AI tools a plus

Responsibilities

  • Support several routine administrative tasks such as but not limited to:
  • Type and assemble correspondences and other formal documents
  • Enter data into computer files or database systems
  • Provide exceptional administrative support to attorneys and staff while maintaining communication with attorneys, staff and managers
  • Enter and maintain accurate and confidential data in databases
  • Work on department specific projects assigned by respective manager
  • Perform other duties as assigned
