About The Position

The Accounting organization at Eversource Energy located in Berlin, Connecticut and Westwood, MA has an opportunity for highly motivated students pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting looking for an opportunity in a summer intern program in a fast paced, changing industry. Individuals will perform a variety of responsibilities associated with the preparation of financial data for various system companies, including both regulated and non-regulated.

Requirements

• Knowledge of accounting theory is required.
• Individuals should be proficient in the use of MS Office applications, and have a strong interest and desire to learn and apply computer applications.
• Candidate should be in the process of pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in accounting

Nice To Haves

• preference will be given to students who have finished their junior year.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation of SEC, Federal Regulatory Commission and state regulatory filings
• Assist with the review and analysis of month end financial statements and reports
• Participate in the monthly accounting closing cycle including preparation of journal entries and analysis and reconciliation of accounts
• Develop corporate cost loading rates
• Assist in the research of accounting issues as identified
