About The Position

This local Class A CDL position is based in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and moves intermodal freight to and from the area’s rail yards. Drivers handle 2–5 loads per shift, with priority loading and unloading at the yards. Routes do not include New York City. Drivers are home daily, and the tractor stays at the terminal while they are off.

The schedule is Tuesday through Saturday, with overnight start times between 12:01 AM and 3:00 AM. Better shifts may become available based on seniority. Christmas is off. The role uses manual and automatic trucks, has slip seating, and includes on-site management and full-service maintenance. The average truck age is approximately two years.

Pay is activity-based: $0.52–$0.57 per mile, $88 per stop, $57 per drop/hook, $45 per driver unload, and $40 per hazmat load. Detention pay is $23–$33 per hour, holiday pay is $210, and new-hire training pays $200 per day. Safety bonuses are available, and online orientation is paid. Hazmat endorsement fees ($60 total) are reimbursed. PTO is available from day one; 401(k) with company match and medical, dental, and vision coverage are offered, with health coverage beginning after 30 days. There are six paid holidays.

Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL.
• At least 3 months of verifiable Class A CDL experience.
• No SAP drivers.
• Clean driving record.
• Valid DOT Medical Card.
• Hazmat endorsement within 60 days of hire.
• Ability to drive manual or automatic trucks.
• Non-smoker.
• Willingness to work overnight start times.
