Intermediate Technician's coordinate and execute work in an industrial environment which may include the performance of measurements, documentation of results, and overview of production activities after receiving appropriate training and mentorship. Inspect and record the adequacy of complex components (very close tolerances, of various components and test assemblies, etc.) using precision measurement devices and nondestructive testing techniques. Support and identify discrepancies in such activities as lifting/handling, welding, receipt inspection, source inspection, component fabrication, and other related tasks through surveillance, inspection testing, and records. Perform tool calibrations. Utilize automatic computerized data processing equipment to perform tasks and record results. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience; or Associates degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; or Journeymans Papers in a related field and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; or Qualification as a Naval Nuclear Propulsion Operator (or commercial nuclear equivalent) and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; or Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in a related field.
  • All candidates must be U.S. citizens.
  • Applicants selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified matter.
  • All candidates must be able to pass a drug test in compliance with FMP company policy and 10 CFR 707.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates degree from a technical college or Journeyman's papers.
  • Proficient in reading and analyzing technical drawings.
  • Experience using coordinate measuring machines.
  • Experience using optical measuring equipment.
  • Experience in nondestructive testing (NDT) at the inspector level or higher in Visual Dimensional (VT), Liquid Penetrant (PT), and Magnetic Particle (MT) testing techniques.
  • Willing to travel to support inspections and off-site training.
