About The Position

As part of the Finance team at JOEY Restaurant Group, you will play a key role in supporting the financial health and performance of our restaurants and corporate operations. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial reporting, strengthening internal processes, and partnering with leaders across the business to ensure clarity, accountability, and operational excellence. As an Intermediate or Senior Accountant, you'll take on greater ownership of financial reporting and reconciliation processes while acting as a trusted resource for restaurant operators and supporting the Accounting Manager. You'll be joining a collaborative, high-performing environment where attention to detail, critical thinking, and continuous improvement are valued - and where your work directly supports the growth of our teams and brands. This is an in-office role based in Vancouver, BC.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience in an accounting or finance environment
  • Currently enrolled in the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) Program or actively working toward completion
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel with strong analytical capability
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in hospitality or multi-unit operations is considered an asset

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and report weekly financial results, rankings, and period-end financial statements with accuracy and timeliness
  • Reconcile central and unit bank accounts, ensuring consistency across entities
  • Maintain and reconcile gift card accounts and related transactions
  • Complete balance sheet and general ledger reconciliations, identifying discrepancies and driving resolution
  • Ensure the accuracy and completion of intercompany adjustments
  • Partner with restaurant leaders to respond to financial and operational inquiries, providing clear, timely, and solutions-focused support
  • Prepare and assist in the completion of year-end working papers and support corporate tax filings
  • Contribute to the year-end external financial statement audit process
  • Prepare and submit government remittances, including GST, PST, HST, and Excise Tax
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen financial processes, improve reporting accuracy, and enhance operational efficiency
  • Support and mentor junior team members while contributing to a collaborative Finance team environment
