About The Position

This role is responsible for the full production accounting cycle for AB conventional, ensuring timely and accurate reporting of production, revenue, and royalties while maintaining compliance with regulations and internal controls. Key responsibilities include completing monthly accounting, reconciling data, and providing guidance to the accounting team while supporting operations. Additional accountabilities include maintaining master files, configuring properties, managing allocations, conducting audits, and implementing regulatory updates. The ideal candidate brings strong technical production accounting expertise, along with excellent analytical and communication skills. Proficiency in Excel and relevant systems is essential, as is the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment through effective leadership and collaboration.

Requirements

  • Legally authorized to work in Canada
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in full-cycle production accounting, including extensive experience with Alberta conventional properties.
  • Bachelor’s degree or CAPPA designation, or equivalent combination of education or relevant work experience.
  • Proficiency with production accounting systems, including Metrix, Petrinex, Energy Components (EC), PVR, ERP systems, Energylink and land systems
  • Advanced Excel skills with strong data management and reporting capabilities

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with heavy oil properties would be an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the full production accounting cycle, including production, revenue, and royalty reporting, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines
  • Prepare and publish oil and gas splits based on information from working interest owners, third parties, and clients
  • Generate and submit required provincial regulatory reports
  • Respond to routine internal and external inquiries
  • Complete monthly reconciliations for oil crown royalties and accounts receivable
