Your work environment at EXP In this role, you will be a part of the Pipeline Engineering team, of the Energy Services, based in Houston Office and have the opportunity to work on the broad range of renewable, natural gas or oil projects.

Requirements

  • Oil and gas project experience.
  • Understanding of CFR Parts 192 and 195.
  • Problem solving skills and ability to find resolutions with limited oversight.
  • Understanding of CAD and GIS applications and how they can be used to assist in completing work deliverables.
  • Organized and has an understanding of ISO 9001:2015 quality requirements.
  • Ability to follow, read, understand and comply with procedures in regard to reviewing, documenting, validating, monitoring and improvement.
  • Previous experience working for natural gas or liquid pipeline operators or engineering consultants.
  • Project experience including pipelines and pipeline facilities (valves, traps, meters, etc.) and coordination with project stakeholders such as right-of-way, environmental, survey, etc.
  • Actual experience preparing alignment sheets, HDD designs, routing studies, ROW layout, workspace, RMV placement and rationale, geohazards, plot plans, material take-offs, cost estimates, etc.
  • Actual design experience, completing design calculations, reviewing and understanding specifications and code, providing oversight for the preparation of design drawings, reviewing drawings and approving them.
  • 5-10 years’ experience.

Nice To Haves

  • An E.I.T or P.E. preferred but not mandatory.
  • Renewable, natural gas or oil projects, including but not limited to high pressure transmission pipelines, compression, storage, gathering, treating, and processing a plus.
  • Carbon capture and renewable energies such as H2 transmission, solar and wind also a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Performing engineering design work as the everyday task.
  • Performing hydraulic calculations, pipe sizing, pipe spec, HDD calculations, workspace layout, preparing alignment sheets, site specific drawings, feasibility studies, routing, cost estimates, material take-offs.
  • Coordinating with additional staff to complete tasks and finalize deliverables.
  • Providing direction to drafting designers to complete design drawings including plot plans, plan and profile drawings, site specifics, alignment sheets, HDDs, material take-off, etc. without management oversight.
  • Providing direction to GIS mappers to complete maps including route maps, project maps, survey maps, geohazard mapping, progress maps, footprint maps, access road maps, etc.
  • Providing direction to complete data analysis, drawing and mapping assignments without management oversight.
  • Interacting with various personnel, clients and stakeholders during assigned projects.
  • Assisting with proposal writing, understanding scope development and the preparation of execution plans.
  • Traveling for field exercises, reconnaissance, field truthing, verification, surveys, etc. as projects dictate.
  • Willingness to learn new engineering fields of study and technologies and support other professional disciplines to build upon current experience level and increase the engineering team’s knowledge base and productivity.
  • Understanding of safe work practices, supporting project specific safety plans and willingness to participate in the workplace safety initiatives and culture.
