About The Position

We are seeking Intermediate Technologists with proven field experience to independently support geotechnical, civil, and construction QA/QC projects. This role involves greater technical responsibility, decision-making in the field, and direct coordination with engineers, site supervisors, and clients. Projects include mining, heavy civil, and municipal infrastructure work, offering diverse and challenging field environments. This is a full-time, field-based position, with an June or July start date anticipated.

Requirements

• Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology, a degree in Civil Engineering or related field
• 2–5 years of relevant field-based QA/QC or geotechnical experience
• Legal authorization to work in Canada
• Valid driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract
• Ability to meet physical job demands and pass fitness-for-work testing
• Experience working in safety-sensitive environments with drug and alcohol testing
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
• Commitment to safety, teamwork, and professional development

Nice To Haves

• Experience in mining, heavy civil, or municipal construction projects
• Proficiency with off-road 4x4 driving and winter conditions
• Certifications: BSO/CSO, H2S, CCIL
• Active or eligible professional membership with ASET or APEGA

Responsibilities

• Independently perform soil and concrete QA/QC monitoring and testing
• Conduct detailed field inspections and verify compliance with drawings, specifications, and standards
• Monitor earthworks, concrete placement, and construction activities
• Identify and communicate non-conformances and field issues to engineers and project managers
• Coordinate with site personnel, contractors, and engineering staff
• Complete accurate, timely field reports and test documentation
• Operate vehicles and equipment safely in active mining and construction environments
• Support and mentor junior technologists as needed
• Build and maintain strong client relationships
