About The Position

GEMTEC is expanding its presence in Ontario and is seeking an Intermediate Engineer for its Geotechnical Division in the London office. This role is part of creating a challenging and inviting workplace where individuals can gain experience and advance their careers. The successful candidate will join a dedicated and collaborative team of Engineers and Scientists working on Geotechnical, Hydrogeological, Environmental, and Materials related projects.

Requirements

Minimum of a bachelor's degree in civil engineering (Geological Engineering program may be suitable) from a recognized university
Minimum of 4 years of geotechnical engineering experience in a consulting environment
Excellent writing and verbal communication skills (English), strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage and prioritize several assignments at one time in order to deliver quality work on time and on budget
Experience in geotechnical analysis, evaluations, and inspections
Experience with geotechnical software applications such as Slope/W, Seep/W, Sigma/W, Slide, Settle3D, FLAC, or similar
Be (or eligible to become) a Registered Professional Engineer in Ontario
Be motivated to provide excellent client service and enjoy working in a multi-disciplinary team environment
Must have a valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle

Responsibilities

Assist in geotechnical projects including writing proposals, field work, data analysis, and writing geotechnical reports
Assist in the preparation of field reports
Assist with client management and consultation as required to effectively manage projects and assist in the development of a client base
Assist with mentoring/training junior field staff
Conduct field inspections
Other duties as required
