Requirements

  • Familiarity in the following categories is a requirement: Industrial power systems (MCCs, VFDs, ATS etc.)
  • Standby generators and backup power
  • Understanding of PLC and controls systems
  • Strong understanding of relay logic and control wiring
  • Experience with instrumentation equipment (Flow, Pressure, and Analytical Equipment etc.)
  • Commissioning and testing of the power and controls systems
  • Strong understanding of Canadian Electrical Code, National Building Code and applicable industry standards.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Municipal Water and Wastewater industry or industrial facilities.
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or diploma in related discipline.
  • Registered with APEGA or ASET.
  • P.Eng or P.Tech.(Eng.) certification is required.
  • Electrician or Instrumentation Certificate

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with drafting or modelling software: AutoCAD, Revit, Plant3D, Solid Works etc.
  • Experience with SKM and/or ETAP

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support electrical engineering designs for Municipal Electrical team. Projects are primarily focused on: Water and Wastewater Treatment facilities, Pumping Stations, and Lift Stations.
  • Prepare detailed design documents including calculations, reports, drawings, and specifications.
  • Primarily design electrical power systems up to 750V.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and participate in project meetings.
  • Conduct site assessments and construction reviews to verify compliance with design requirements.
  • Assist with project planning, scheduling, cost estimates, and client communications.
  • Lead and direct on-site commissioning.
