INTERMEDIATE CARE FACILITY MONITOR
About The Position
The Department of Economic Security (DES), Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD), is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as an Intermediate Care Facility Monitor. DDD provides individuals with developmental disabilities and their families, services and supports that are flexible, high-quality, and member-driven. These services provide individuals with opportunities to exercise their rights and responsibilities of independent decision-making and engagement in the community. Applicants for this position cannot be licensed or certified by the DDD Office of Licensing, Certification and Regulation, cannot have a principal interest in or have a spouse or close family with principal interest in a DDD Qualified Vendor Agreement, and cannot be employed or subcontracted by a DDD Qualified Vendor.
Requirements
- ICF/ID Federal and State requirements
- Monitoring ICF/ID facilities
- Human dynamics and organizational systems
- Needs of people with Developmental/Intellectual disabilities and the care provided to them
- Observation and obtaining information from people in a non-threatening manner
- Problem-solving and Critical thinking
- Oral and written communication
- Time management
- Providing constructive feedback in a manner that fosters collaboration
- Basic computer use (e.g., Word, Excel, Google)
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to understand complex constructs
- Ability to combine content, perspectives, and techniques associated with the various elements of a program to achieve specific monitoring goals
- Valid driver's license
- Successfully pass background and reference check
- Valid Level One fingerprint clearance card
- Subject to a search of both the Department of Child Safety Central Registry and the Adult Protective Services Registry
- Successfully complete the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E-Verify)
Nice To Haves
- One (1) year of experience working with individuals with Intellectual/Developmental disabilities
- One (1) year of experience working in an ICF/ID facility
Responsibilities
- Conducts on-site monitoring visits to ensure compliance with federal and state requirements for SO ICFs, including life safety and emergency preparedness.
- Prepares for reviews/inspections by reviewing past reports, incidents, complaints, etc.
- Meets with management to explain non-compliance.
- Drives to and from facilities to conduct on-site monitoring; local and statewide travel is required.
- Writes detailed reports of monitoring visit findings, including quarterly and annual reports to SORS management.
- Conducts follow-up inspections 30 days or sooner after the initial review if corrections were necessary.
- Conducts staff training and provides technical assistance to facility staff and management as needed.
- Communicates findings to SORS Quality meetings.
