About The Position

WestJet is transforming its Human Capital Management (HCM) landscape from multiple legacy systems to a unified, cloud-based platform centered on Dayforce. The Intermediate Analyst, People Technology plays a key role in the maintenance, sustainment, reliability, and continuous evolution of WestJet’s People Technology platforms by supporting both day-to-day operations and the ongoing transformation by administering, sustaining, enhancing, troubleshooting, and continuously improving HCM technology services. This role combines HCM platform support, service delivery, configuration, release validation, reporting and analytics, incident/problem management, and continuous improvement activities. The successful candidate will work across both legacy and future-state platforms, helping translate business requirements into technology solutions while supporting the migration of capabilities to Dayforce. The Intermediate Analyst is a technical and functional resource within an operational delivery team that supports both day-to-day business operations and WestJet's HCM transformation program. The role partners with internal stakeholders, including HR, Payroll, Finance, and business leaders, as well as vendors and technology teams, to support current-state systems, implement new capabilities, and help transition processes from legacy platforms to Dayforce.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Technology Management, Human Resources Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience supporting SaaS-based HCM, HRIS, payroll, or workforce management platforms within an operational support, product delivery, or DevOps environment (e.g., Dayforce, JD Edwards Payroll, SAP SuccessFactors, UKG/Kronos, or similar enterprise solutions).
  • Experience developing reports, dashboards, and analytics solutions using data from multiple systems.
  • Experience with Agile delivery, ServiceNow, Jira, Azure DevOps, SQL, Power BI, or similar tools.
  • Knowledge of Canadian payroll processes
  • Experience with incident management, problem management, root cause analysis, and operational support.
  • Experience translating business requirements into system or process solutions.
  • Experience participating in system testing, user acceptance testing, and release activities.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on experience supporting Dayforce Core HR, Reporting, Payroll, Security, Position Management, or Time Management.
  • Experience supporting JD Edwards (JDE) Payroll and payroll-related integrations.
  • Experience supporting HCM transformation or cloud migration initiatives.
  • Dayforce certification or related HRIS certifications considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Support HCM system-related enhancements, processes, configuration, troubleshooting, testing, and operational activities.
  • Administer and support Dayforce and related People technology platforms, integrations, reporting solutions, and downstream systems.
  • Maintain the integrity and accuracy of employee and organizational data across supported platforms.
  • Investigate and resolve issues impacting employee records, workflows, reporting, payroll processing, time management, and downstream systems.
  • Participate in payroll validation, year-end processing, legislative updates, and compliance initiatives.
  • Support, monitor, troubleshoot, and improve integrations, APIs, file interfaces, and data flows between Dayforce, JD Edwards (JDE), and other related systems.
  • Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot reports, dashboards, data extracts, and analytics solutions supporting HR and Payroll operations.
  • Support incident, problem, change, and release management in accordance with established ITSM processes.
  • Perform root cause analysis, testing, release validation, and implementation support for system changes and enhancements.
  • Analyze business processes and provide recommendations on how requirements should be configured as capabilities transition from legacy platforms into Dayforce.
  • Identify opportunities to improve technology solutions, business processes, reporting, and user experience.
  • Develop and maintain operational documentation, knowledge articles, support procedures, and testing materials.
  • Support migration, modernization, and continuous improvement initiatives as capabilities transition from legacy systems to Dayforce.
  • Partner with HR, Payroll, Finance, IT teams, vendors, and business stakeholders to support delivery and operational success.
  • Participate in Agile delivery activities including backlog refinement, sprint planning, estimation, testing, and delivery of prioritized work.
  • Participate in on-call support rotations and provide after-hours support for critical business processes as required.
