About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Intermediate Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. In this role you will support the financial reporting team across all FYiHealth Group business units in the monthly, quarterly and annual financial close processes and assist in any ad hoc projects / tasks as required. Requirements

  • An undergraduate degree in Commerce or Business with a preferred major in accounting.
  • Has or is in the process of obtaining CPA designation with completion of CPA core 1 and Core 2 module preferred.
  • 2-4 years in a Finance/Accounting capacity, with full-cycle accounting experience an asset.
  • Experience in financial reporting, journal entry preparation and account reconciliations.
  • Strong intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • High attention to detail, organized and able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Self-motivated with exceptional problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • A collaborative, adaptable, and proactive team player with a growth mindset, able to manage changing priorities effectively

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with ERP systems and/or Netsuite is considered an asset.
  • Bilingualism English/French is considered an asset

Responsibilities

  • Prepare general ledger journal entries, including accruals, monthly recurring, and adjusting entries.
  • Perform general ledger account reconciliations, conducting variance analysis, generating various reports, and interpreting the results.
  • Prepare and maintain working papers and schedules for monthly, quarterly and annual financials.
  • Assist in period-end close and reporting.
  • Assist in the interim and year-end audit process.
  • Look for opportunities to provide process improvements and efficiencies.
  • Liaison with other departments, accounting team members, and external parties.
  • Assess current processes, procedures, internal controls, and making recommendations for improvements.
  • Perform ad hoc analysis and projects.
  • Support the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the team and organizational goals.
