About The Position

Perkins&Will Miami Studio is seeking a Project Architect with a specialization in Interiors. This role is a technical and design leadership position responsible for the successful delivery of interior environments from the initial concept phase through to construction completion. The Project Architect will collaborate closely with interior designers, consultants, and clients, while also managing project coordination, documentation, quality assurance, and construction administration. The primary goal is to ensure that the design intent, technical excellence, and superior client service are upheld throughout the entire project lifecycle.

Requirements

  • 8-10+ years of experience
  • Professional Licensure: Required
  • Bachelor's degree in architecture or related discipline required
  • Architectural license
  • Proficiency in building, zoning, energy and zoning codes
  • Proficiency in site analysis
  • Proficiency in preliminary design studies
  • Proficiency in contract documents
  • Proficiency in specifications
  • Proficiency in construction contract administration
  • Proficiency in project team organization and management
  • Proficiency in consultant coordination
  • Proficiency in construction techniques, system assemblies and material selection
  • Proficiency in client communication
  • Advanced Revit skills
  • Proficiency in conceptual and computational modeling tools such as Rhino, including Grasshopper scripting
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and 365
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (including presentation tools such as InDesign and Photoshop)
  • Proficiency in visualization tools such as Enscape, Lumion and VRay
  • Proficiency in physical modeling tools such as 3D Printing and Laser cutting
  • Proficiency in Environmental Analysis software such as Pollination Ladybug and Climate Studio

Responsibilities

  • Understands all aspects of the design process and project complexities to proactively contribute to the overall success of the team while adhering to firm and project goals and standards of excellence in design, project management, execution and living design.
  • Understands and responds to technical implications, design decisions and project financial goals.
  • Coordinates project documentation development and the production of deliverable drawings and specifications.
  • Reviews deliverables at each phase for conformance with firm standards, contractual obligations and project design intent, with a focus on quality, accuracy, legibility, completeness and constructability.
  • Responsible for addressing Quality Control review comments at each phase.
  • Manages project Quality Assurance and adherence with Perkins&Will standards.
  • Leads project coordination efforts among internal disciplines (architecture, interior design, landscape architecture) and with external consultants.
  • Communicates with clients related to project technical matters.
  • Administers project regulatory reviews (building code, accessibility, zoning) and coordination with, and submission to, authorities having jurisdiction.
  • Leads construction contract administration responsibilities including: submittal review and response, RFI review and response, field observation and reporting and project closeout.
  • Maintains awareness of evolving building technology and engineering systems relevant to project work.
  • Contributes to project marketing pursuits, proposal preparation and interviews.
  • Participates in design reviews, charettes and pin-ups.
  • Demonstrates strong and effective communication, decision making and collaboration, which inspires high team performance.
