About The Position

The primary responsibility of the Interior Maintenance Horticulture Technician is to perform landscape maintenance tasks with care and efficiency. Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned as needed to ensure the highest level of services are provided. Botanical Designs and its affiliates specialize in interior and exterior landscaping, as well as seasonal holiday décor installations, transforming commercial spaces into visually stunning environments.

Requirements

• Minimum of one (1) year horticultural education or equivalent experience.
• Must have a valid Driver’s License and maintain a clean driving record.
• Able to drive in downtown urban areas.
• Ensure knowledge of appropriate safety and environmental revisions.
• Handle plants and tools with care, being concerned with safety and security.
• Set a positive example by displaying a pleasant and approachable demeanor and always remaining friendly and courteous.
• Able to work effectively both individually and in a team with minimal supervision; able to make decisions using own initiative.
• Assume responsibility for own work and for performing tasks correctly.
• Is aware of and actively supports the achievement of departmental goals.

Responsibilities

• Exceed client expectations by providing professional, courteous and efficient service at all times.
• Manage assigned client accounts and daily route effectively.
• Provide excellent care and service to client accounts by grooming and trimming plants, probing soil for moisture levels, and cleaning plants.
• Keep track of tools on job site.
• Write up special services needed, such as large tree trimming, pesticide application, after-hour cleaning requests, and large plant material transplanting and replacements.
• Maintain clean vehicle at all times, ensuring interior and exterior cleanliness, and removing personal items daily.
• Adhere to Company maintenance inspection policy.
• Report any and all accidents immediately.
• Identify plant replacements, create replacement tickets, and install small replacement plants and flowers as needed.
• Ensure work sites are restored to original condition or better upon departure, leaving no dirt, moss, or debris behind.
• Cultivate and maintain positive client relationships, including with managers and co-workers.
• Maintain a positive, solution-oriented approach to service while communicating with customers.
• Project a good company image to customers and the general public.
• Ensure a professional appearance, good hygiene, and a clean uniform.
• Use proper horticultural references.
• Understand and uphold Interior Service Department Quality Standards.
• Identify common tropical plants.
• Continue own education by staying informed of industry trends, learning new skills, and asking questions.
• Be flexible and understand the importance of cooperation and teamwork.
• Use time management and organizational skills to prioritize and plan work.
• Report problems and/or concerns with equipment and tools immediately.
• Advise manager/s in a timely manner if additional assistance is needed.
• Drive safely and respect legal speed limits.
• Ensure working hours, including overtime, have been recorded accurately and truthfully.
• Participate in company LEAN activities and maintain assigned areas.
• Other duties as assigned.
