About The Position

The Interior Engineer works under the direction of the Engineering Manager and is responsible for establishing, maintaining, and managing all aspects of the Endeavor Air Aircraft Interior Program to ensure compliance, reliability, and operational performance. This role drives engineering solutions for aircraft interiors, including repairs, modifications, campaigns, day-to-day surveillance of the Delta Audit system, and supporting interior‑related engineering projects. The position plays a key role in reliability analysis, regulatory compliance (CASS), and continuous improvement of maintenance programs and engineering processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field, OR Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license with 5+ years of airline operations experience.
  • 2+ years of program or project management experience, with the ability to support and run projects end-to-end, manage timelines, and coordinate stakeholders. Formal certification not required; hands-on experience preferred.
  • Strong work ethic, reliable, and self-motivated.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills and able to work with all levels of an organization.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Must possess valid driver’s license as position requires use of company vehicle(s), must be insurable under company insurance coverage.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a liaison with Delta Airlines, Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Original Equipment Manufacturers, and Delta Connection regarding all Endeavor Air aircraft/fleet systems matters.
  • Change requirements as indicated by the Endeavor Air Continuous Analysis and Surveillance (CASS) Program, maintaining aircraft inspection tasks and supervising implementation of engineering driven programs for safety and improved reliability.
  • Perform reliability monitoring of assigned Air Transport Association (ATA) aircraft systems on a daily basis.
  • Assist in identifying repeat discrepancies associated with assigned ATA aircraft systems, assist Maintenance Operations Technical Representatives (MOTRs) in establishing corrective action plans, assist as necessary in execution of corrective action plans.
  • Assist in supporting 14 CFR 121.373 CASS requirements through monitoring the effectiveness of Maintenance Inspection Programs as related to aircraft systems.
  • Maintain a high level of knowledge and be available for consultation with the Director, Tech Services in the following areas: Assigned ATA aircraft systems, Project Authorizations and Engineering Orders, and the Endeavor Air CASS Program requirements.
  • Assist in reviewing various manual revisions, Service Bulletins, and Airworthiness Directives to determine appropriate actions.
  • Assist in formulating Maintenance Program changes, Project Authorizations, Engineering Orders, Fleet Campaign Directives, Maintenance Information Letters, or other relevant engineering documents.
  • Assist in monitoring the effectiveness of corrective action applied to CASS deficiencies associated with Maintenance Inspection Programs and/or Maintenance Inspection Tasks as related to aircraft systems.
  • Assist in monitoring and analyzing results and findings on internal audits to detect and assist the development and execution of effective and applicable corrective actions.
  • Liaison with Aircraft and Component manufacturers as necessary to assist in affecting changes/revisions to existing support documentation to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness.
  • Liaison with aircraft and component manufacturers regarding damage related engineering support, parts interchangeability, and Reference Informational Letters.
  • Provide assistance, as necessary, to maintenance to obtain approved manufacturer documentation for temporary and/or permanent relief and/or repairs to damage and to interpret documentation.
  • Review and approve component repair teardown reports and quotes from vendors for failure trends, rogue part identification, and assist in determining if the Maintenance Program(s) or maintenance methods require revision to reduce failures.
  • Assist in the analysis as related to Endeavor Air Fiscal Budgets.
  • Attend daily operational meetings as an Engineering Department representative.
  • Must be able to handle project management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • May provide guidance or mentorship to interns or co-op engineers, as applicable.
