About The Position

Beyer Blinder Belle, an award-winning architecture firm with offices in New York City, Boston, and Washington DC, seeks a highly motivated Interior Designer to join the New York City office. Our ideal candidate is excited about invigorating high-profile new construction, adaptive reuse, or historic buildings through architectural design, brings a strong sense of design with technical grounding, actively seeks to develop innovative design concepts, and works both independently and collaboratively toward solutions. In addition to working locally with a broad and diverse group of professionals at all stages of career development, new hires will collaborate virtually with BBB design professionals across all of our office locations. Requirements

  • 3-5+ years of experience working on a variety of interiors projects in new construction and existing buildings; multi-family residential and hospitality project experience is desired.
  • Professional degree in interior design or architecture
  • Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Suite, and Bluebeam; 3D rendering skills should include Enscape, SketchUp,
  • Full-time professional working directly with lead designer, project manager, PIC, and client and consultant teams
  • Ability to manage one or multiple projects at different phases, from programming/feasibility to construction
  • Excellent graphic, oral, and written communication skills
  • Proven understanding of accessibility, life safety and code compliance requirements

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Rhino and/or V-ray is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate in a project team setting through all design and document production phases.
  • Assist with programming efforts, including client interviews, data analysis, program generation, and space planning.
  • Prepare for and participate in client presentations; generate graphics to include renderings and inspirational imagery.
  • Source project-appropriate architectural and interior finish materials, lighting, signage, and art as part of comprehensive schemes that reflect budgetary constraints and sustainability best practices.
  • Prepare contract documents, including plans, details, millwork design, RCPs, and finish plans and schedules.
  • Selection of FF&E and preparation of specifications; collaborate with outside purchasing departments for project delivery as needed.
  • Assist the Construction Administration team in responding to RFI’s and change orders; review shop drawings and product specifications; and attend site meetings as required.
  • Oversee junior team members on projects.
