About The Position

Skandinavia Contemporary Interiors, an Austin tradition since 1971, is seeking a full-time home furnishing sales/interior designer. The ideal candidate is outgoing, enthusiastic, and passionate about design and quality, with a knack for helping customers create the perfect atmosphere in their homes while maintaining high customer service standards. This role is based at our South Austin location.

Requirements

Proven sales record.
Energy, enthusiasm, and patience backed by an entrepreneurial spirit.
Must have excellent listening skills and the ability to work independently and as a team.
HS Diploma required.
Minimum 2 years of proven retail sales/customer service –furniture experience and background in interior design strongly preferred.
Exceptional sales and customer service skills.
Excellent written and verbal communications.
Be able to lift 25 pounds.
Ability to work well in a team concept and on your own.
Optimistic, outgoing and an energetic personality.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's degree preferred
High-end apparel and luxury retail sales experience considered.
Bilingual a plus.

Responsibilities

Take a consultative selling approach to building customer relationships as you help prospective buyers select home furnishing pieces that best suit their needs.
Provide design services in showroom for furniture, accessories and rug selection including finish, color customization and style options.
Generate sales as a result of in-store and in-home consultations.
Develop and maintain expert product knowledge on all of our merchandise.
Demonstrate design skills, professional communication, and follow-up skills.
Maintain the appearance of the store at all times.
Attend and participate in weekly store meetings and individual meetings.
Develop expert knowledge of our procedures and computer systems.
Collaborate on posts for social media.
