About The Position

Morris Adjmi Architects (MA) is seeking an Interior Designer I / Interior Architect I (IDI/IAI) to join their award-winning multidisciplinary design firm. This role works under the guidance of mid- to senior-level team members to contribute to design concepts, FF&E planning and selections, floor plan analysis, and integrated systems coordination. The IDI/IAI will assist with visual design concepts and materials, carry out assignments that require developing new or improved techniques, and support the production of construction documents with moderate oversight. This role gains exposure to all project phases and is introduced to construction administration responsibilities. Requirements

  • Professional degree in Architecture, Interior Architecture, or Interior Design.
  • IAI: Architect License required.
  • 3+ years of relevant interiors experience.
  • Proficiency in Revit, Rhino, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, Enscape, Procore, MS Office, and Bluebeam.
  • Strong design, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to design and development from concept through documentation.
  • Assist in preparing client presentations, including imagery, renderings, elevations, and material/FF&E selections.
  • Develop FF&E packages and selections, coordinating with vendors for specifications and pricing.
  • Implement design direction based on leadership feedback.
  • Maintain proper project file structure and organization.
  • Support the production of design development and construction document sets.
  • Review and update documentation from redlines with accuracy.
  • Assist in developing schedules for finishes, appliances, plumbing fixtures, and hardware.
  • Correspond with vendors as needed regarding finishes and specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with MA Presentation Standards and Project Checklists.
  • Research building codes and accessibility requirements as needed.
  • Gain familiarity with BIM execution plans.
  • Archive project emails and maintain server file organization.
  • Consistently self-check work for accuracy.
  • Attend site meetings as an observer when directed.
  • Assist with existing condition surveys.
  • Contribute to field reports and punch lists.
  • Maintain RFI and submittal logs with oversight.
  • Support review of RFIs and submittals.
