About The Position

JEMA is looking for an Interior Designer / Architect who will be a self-motivated, vocal member of our team. While we provide a flexible work environment, the selected candidate must live in the St. Louis area and be able to regularly work in the office, attend in-person meetings and site visits, and be a collaborative member of our team both in-person and virtually. This role will be primarily focused on interior design but requires working knowledge of architecture, allowing the candidate to move fluidly between interiors and broader project architecture responsibilities as needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in interior design and/or architecture, including corporate and multi-family projects.
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Revit required.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite required.
  • Experience in all phases of design, documentation, and construction administration.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills with the ability to voice their opinions and ideas in a well-articulated manner.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Bluebeam and project scheduling software (e.g., Monograph) a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the design and/or documentation of interiors for all types of JEMA projects.
  • Collaborate with the project design team at each phase of the project including programming, schematic design, design development, and documentation in Revit.
  • Generate programming questionnaires, space planning concepts, and 3D perspective views for presentation to the client.
  • Research finishes and create finish palettes and present options to the client.
  • Partner with the business development team during presentations to potential clients.
  • Communicate with product reps and help manage the interior products library.
  • Share knowledge of interiors with Architecture staff and apply architectural knowledge to support interiors work.
  • Review building code, accessibility compliance and zoning/ordinance restrictions as they relate to interior spaces.
  • Work collaboratively with all staff, coordinate project work, and serve as a mentor to junior staff.
  • Manage workload and effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously.
