Compensation is commission-based, with potential for significant earnings based on sales performance.

Requirements

  • Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent with relevant work experience.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of practical interior design experience.
  • Broad knowledge of interior design and effective sales techniques.
  • Working knowledge of online sales and design tools.
  • Good listening skills with excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • General understanding of how to utilize social media and grass-roots marketing to develop a book of business.
  • Valid driver’s license, or ability to establish an alternate means of transportation.
  • Intermediate skill competency using digital floor planning technology.
  • Willing and capable of learning new technologies.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a design-related field from an accredited institution.
  • Proven experience preferred.
  • 3D applications a plus.
  • Experience using interactive technology to view design concepts such as augmented reality, virtual reality and other visualization tools.

Responsibilities

  • Create design solutions consistent with customer preferences and budget.
  • Sell Ethan Allen's products and services.
  • Represent the Ethan Allen brand in all customer interactions.
  • Professionally greet customers, establish rapport, and obtain appointments and in-home consultations.
  • Conduct home calls to evaluate customer needs and provide individualized design solutions to close sales.
  • Utilize grassroots marketing and social media platforms to develop and grow business.
  • Educate customers about Ethan Allen's complimentary design service.
  • Stay current on design and color trends.
  • Coordinate with the team to provide exceptional customer service before and after the sale, including order status updates.
  • Participate in corporate-sponsored marketing and training programs.
  • Educate customers on available Ethan Allen sponsored finance options.
  • Contribute to the development and upkeep of the design center's portfolio.
  • Utilize corporate systems and technology for designing projects, creating presentations, and providing professional service.
  • Enter orders using the retail point of sale system.
  • Maintain a neat and orderly design center projection.
  • Collaborate with leadership and team members to develop business and marketing plans to exceed goals.
  • Provide suggestions to modify plans based on reaching specific goals and objectives.
  • Utilize technology such as 3-D Room Planner, CRM, and Live Chat to build project volume and client relationships.
  • Use social media (e.g., Facebook, Instagram) to enhance personal and company presence.
  • Build relationships with outside talent via social media (e.g., LinkedIn) to expand market network.
  • Perform any other required duties.
