About The Position

New Fire Native Design Group (NFN) is an Architecture and Interior Design firm dedicated to serving Native American communities through thoughtful, forward-looking design. Our work honors tradition while building a strong foundation for future generations. We're seeking an experienced Interior Design Manager to lead and grow our Interior Design practice. This role is ideal for a seasoned interior design professional who is passionate about mentoring others, advancing design excellence, and helping shape the future of our discipline. As a key leader within the firm, you will support project teams, establish technical standards, develop talent, and foster a collaborative culture that empowers designers to do their best work. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture from a CIDA-accredited program required.
  • NCIDQ Certification required.
  • 8+ years of progressive interior design experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience mentoring teams and supporting professional growth.
  • Strong knowledge of interior design processes, building systems, materials, and documentation standards.
  • Proficiency in Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, and other industry-standard design software.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with Native American communities or tribal projects is valued but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and support interior design professionals across all experience levels.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, innovation, and continuous learning.
  • Establish and maintain interior design standards, best practices, and production resources.
  • Serve as a technical resource for project teams throughout design and documentation phases.
  • Coordinate training initiatives and professional development opportunities within the discipline.
  • Conduct quality reviews and support continuous improvement efforts across projects.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project teams to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Participate in client meetings and help maintain strong relationships with tribal partners and stakeholders.
  • Support staffing, resource planning, and workload coordination within the Interior Design team.
