About The Position

At Action Behavior Centers, our mission is to provide life-changing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy to children with autism. Our centers are thoughtfully designed environments that support learning, development, and engagement for the children and families we serve. As we continue expanding into new communities, our design and development teams play a critical role in creating spaces that are functional, safe, and supportive of therapeutic programming. Our New Centers team works collaboratively across design, real estate, and construction to bring new centers to life and ensure each environment reflects operational needs and brand standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Architecture Design, Architecture, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated experience through professional work related to architectural or construction design.
  • Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Salesforce, and Asana.
  • Experience reviewing construction drawings, plans, and specifications.
  • Working knowledge of building codes, regulations, and construction processes.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities with the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and quality of work.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Highly flexible and adaptable to evolving project needs.

Nice To Haves

  • Licensed Architect is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Support the design team and architects in creating and developing schematics and construction documents.
  • Coordinating with architects and engineers to create and develop schematics and construction documents.
  • Review of construction drawings, plans, and specifications, ensuring accuracy and adherence to relevant codes, regulations, and branding.
  • Coordinate communication between the General Contractors and Architects during the permitting process.
  • Conduct research on design trends, materials, building systems, and construction techniques to support design initiatives and value engineering efforts.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other team members to gather project requirements and ensure design feasibility.
  • Prepare documentation including design presentations, reports, and project progress updates.
  • Assist in coordinating and communicating with contractors, suppliers, and other external stakeholders to support project implementation.
  • Assist in reviewing and evaluating design proposals, construction documents, and contractor submissions.
  • Perform site visits and inspections to help ensure design compliance, identify potential issues, and support problem-solving efforts.
  • Utilize design software and tools to develop accurate and visually clear design concepts and documentation.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies relevant to architectural and construction design.
