About The Position

Trinity Health’s FirstChoice Mobile Resource Pool is seeking a passionate Interim Infection Prevention Nurse Leader to join the team at St. Agnes Medical Center, Fresno, CA. This position is responsible for coordinating, planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and goal-setting for the hospital-wide Infection Prevention and Control Program that is compliant with all applicable laws, regulations, and accreditation requirements to promote high-quality, cost-effective healthcare. The incumbent is accountable for the development of effective systems and processes for the prevention of hospital-associated infections, infection surveillance, infection identification, and communication to appropriate leaders of identified trends and opportunities. The incumbent must demonstrate a high level of problem-solving and expertise in a highly-specialized knowledge base, recommending corrective action and prevention measures. This position is a liaison to the Environment of Care and Emergency Preparedness Committees, and is responsible for the development and implementation of plans to accommodate a potential surge of contagious patients due to naturally-occurring events, bioterrorist attack, or pandemic. The incumbent has 24-hour accountability for the Infection Prevention and Control Program, manages the supervision of the Infection Prevention and Control team, including the hiring process, colleague evaluations, and disciplinary actions, and is responsible for the operational budget of the Infection Prevention and Control Program.

Requirements

  • Active California RN License (or other RN state license)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) or Public Health
  • BLS Certificate (American Heart Assoc.)
  • 3 years' experience in Acute Care setting
  • 2 years' experience Managerial
  • Current Board of Infection Control (CIC) Certification

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN) or Public Health
  • Member of the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC)

Responsibilities
