About The Position

The Interim Housing Facility Support Night Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of daily facility operations in the Interim Housing facility, ensuring a clean, safe, and supportive environment for parents and children experiencing homelessness. This leadership role supervises the Interim Housing Support Specialist team and Interim Housing Housekeeping, coordinates maintenance and safety procedures, and works closely with Interim Housing leadership to create a trauma-informed, family-centered environment. The manager plays a critical role in supporting interim housing stability, ensuring the physical space promotes dignity, comfort, and safety for families in transition. The manager provides leadership, strategic coordination, and system-level problem-solving to improve housing outcomes for vulnerable families.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or related field (accept relevant experience in lieu of a degree).
  • Experience working in Homeless services, crisis response, or similar community-based settings.
  • Strong communication, organization, and advocacy skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and under stressful conditions
  • Ability to apply sound judgment in high-stress situations and respond effectively to crises.
  • Capable of assessing complex family needs and developing appropriate, individualized service plans.
  • Strong problem-solving skills help clients address obstacles related to housing, employment, childcare, and more.
  • Culturally competent with the ability to work sensitively with diverse populations and family structures.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position (sitting or standing) for extended periods while conducting intakes, meetings, and documentation.
  • Frequently moves throughout the Interim Housing facility to meet with families and attend staff meetings.
  • May need to travel locally to attend appointments, conduct home visits, or meet with service providers; a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation may be required.
  • The ability to work in a shared office or shelter environment may be emotionally demanding due to the nature of clients’ situations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, train, and schedule the facility support specialist across all shifts, ensuring 24/7 shelter coverage.
  • Provide coaching and professional development to staff on trauma informed practices, shelter policies and participant/family interactions.
  • Conduct regular team meetings, one-to-ones, and performance evaluations.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the interim housing facility, including cleanliness, sanitation, maintenance, and supply management.
  • Perform regular walkthroughs to ensure safety standards are met and units are clean and family friendly.
  • Work Collaboratory with on-site maintenance and facility team to resolve maintenance issues.
  • Respond to emergencies and behavioral incidents involving family/participants in a calm, professional, and family-sensitive manner.
  • Work closely with the Interim Housing Navigation Manager and case management staff, Intake Coordinator, and Interim Housing Director to ensure family/participants’ needs are addressed.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and record/file compliance with program and funding needs.
  • Ensure program compliance to funder Scope of Service needs.
  • Support Shelter Safety Protocols, including conflict resolution and emergency procedures.
  • Help with room turnovers, laundry services (linen services), minor cleaning tasks, and stocking supplies like diapers, hygiene kits, bedding, pantry, or other donations.
  • Complete incident reports, shift notes, and maintenance request clearly and accurately.
  • Collaboration with facility and maintenance staff
  • Complete and submit progress notes within 72 hours utilizing HMIS.
  • Support participant/family with interim Housing compliance.
  • Other duties as assigned
