About The Position

The Program Director provides academic, operational, and implementation leadership for the Entry-Level Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program. The Director is responsible for the day-to-day management of the program, oversight of curriculum implementation, faculty support, student success initiatives, clinical operations coordination, assessment and evaluation activities, and continuous quality improvement. In addition, the Director serves as the primary implementation leader for the School of Nursing's competency-based curriculum. This role ensures the successful integration of the AACN Essentials, Domains, Concepts of Practice, Competencies, and Sub-Competencies throughout the curriculum and supports faculty in the transition from traditional educational models to competency-based education. During the initial implementation of the competency-based curriculum, the Program Director serves as the primary operational leader, ensuring a successful transition and implementation.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all competency-based curriculum implementation activities.
  • Serve as the central resource for faculty regarding curriculum implementation.
  • Monitor implementation timelines and deliverables.
  • Identify implementation challenges and facilitate solutions.
  • Coordinate communication among faculty, administration, and support personnel.
  • Provide real-time consultation and support to faculty.
  • Assist faculty in transitioning assessment practices from traditional grading models to competency-based evaluation.
  • Facilitate workshops, training sessions, and implementation meetings.
  • Monitor faculty workload and identify areas requiring additional support.
  • Monitor competency attainment data during implementation.
  • Identify emerging issues requiring intervention.
  • Generate implementation reports and recommendations.
  • Promote consistency in implementation across courses and faculty.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration among stakeholders.
  • Support faculty adoption of new processes and technologies.
  • Assist leadership in evaluating implementation effectiveness and making needed adjustments.
  • Revise applicable syllabi revisions to correspond to the CBE changes made in the Entry-Level program.
  • Evaluate the alignment among RN to BSN course outcomes and the AACN Essentials to determine the extent to which the curriculum demonstrates intentional integration, progression, and assessment of competency-based nursing education expectations.
  • Collaborate with the School of Nursing's Post-Licensure Circle as a CBE subject-matter expert.
