About The Position

AVON PUBLIC SCHOOLS is seeking an Interim Elementary Teacher for Grade 1. Applicants must complete all required fields of the application, as well as upload supporting documents including a cover letter specific to the position, an up-to-date resume, copies of any certifications, copies of any college/university transcripts, and three letters of reference dated within the last year for full consideration.

Requirements

• Must possess or be eligible for Connecticut State Department of Education certification that covers elementary grades.
• Degree from an accredited college or university with a concentration in elementary education.

Responsibilities

• Prepare instructional resources and assessments that support the delivery of the Avon Public School's curriculum, particularly the elementary disciplines.
• Develop and implement lesson plans, unit plans, and educational projects to ensure students’ academic development.
• Provide differentiated instructional strategies and assessment and/or modify the curriculum to meet the learning needs of students with structured learning plans (IEPs and 504s).
• Provide support to all learners who require additional help or guidance with academic problems and concepts.
• Other responsibilities as defined by the building principal or designee.
