Interim ED Manager (RN)
About The Position
This is a part-time, interim position for an ED Manager (RN) at MercyOne Medical Center in Newton, IA. The role involves overseeing day-to-day ED department operations, including staff, physicians, and regulatory compliance. The manager will be responsible for scheduling, managing timecards and PTO requests, conducting daily huddles, handling patient complaints and incident reporting, and overseeing quality assurance projects. The position also requires participation in leadership meetings, collaboration with ancillary departments for process improvements, and addressing staffing issues. The ED sees an average daily census of 20-30 patients, with 9,200-9,800 annual visits. It is a Level 3 trauma center with one ED physician per 12-hour shift. The hospital has a total of 205 employees.
Requirements
- Licensed in IA (or compact state)
- BLS; ACLS; PALS; TNCC
- BSN
- Minimum 5-years clinical experience in ED
- Prior management experience required
- Epic experience
Responsibilities
- Assist with day-to-day ED department operations such as overseeing operations, physicians, staff, etc.
- Oversee trauma coordinator and ensure compliance with regulatory and compliance within the department.
- Completes schedule and timecards; manages UKG and PTO requests and all timecard duties, etc.
- Holds daily huddles with ED department
- Manages patient complaint follow up, Midas incident reporting, etc.
- Manages and oversees quality assurance projects and quality initiatives in the department.
- Participates in Newton Leadership Team meetings
- Works with other ancillary department leaders on process improvements
- Addresses staffing issues
