Interim Director of Nursing
About The Position
A facility south of Butte, MT is seeking an Interim Director of Nursing to join their Long-term care team! This is a full-time, 6-month contract position with a schedule of Monday-Friday, day shift. The role involves ensuring nursing compliance through overseeing onboarding, orientation, and competency validation for all staff, strengthening interdisciplinary teamwork, and maintaining communication between leadership and frontline staff. The position also supports clinical operations by providing hands-on leadership, assisting with direct patient care during staffing shortages, and fostering a collaborative care environment.
Requirements
- RN License with the ability to practice in the state of Montana
- 2 or more years of experience as a Director of Nursing
- 4 or more years of long-term care experience required
Responsibilities
- Ensure nursing compliance by overseeing onboarding, orientation, and competency validation for all staff (including travelers)
- Strengthen interdisciplinary teamwork
- Maintain clear, two-way communication between leadership and frontline staff
- Support clinical operations by providing hands-on leadership when needed
- Assist with direct patient care during staffing shortages
- Foster a collaborative, responsive care environment
