About The Position
Ace Liquor Discounter has more than 130 locations in Alberta where you’ll find great selection, better prices, and friendly, knowledgeable staff. We stock wines from around the world, local and international beers, and specialty spirits at everyday low prices. We’re hiring a dependable, motivated Assistant Store Manager to support daily operations and help lead a high-performing store team. Requirements
- 2+ years of retail experience
- 2+ years in a supervisory role
- ProServe certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand/walk for most of the shift
- Strong communication, reliability, and teamwork skills
- Availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays
Responsibilities
- Assist with supervising, coaching, and training staff
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and performance management
- Help promote a positive, engaged team culture
- Support daily store operations, including opening and closing duties
- Manage store communication (email, updates, task assignments)
- Work closely with the Store Manager on staffing, operational needs, and sales goals
- Check ID and ensure all alcohol sales meet Alberta regulations
- Deliver friendly, knowledgeable customer service
- Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming store environment
- Assist with inventory counts, ordering, and receiving
- Review reports and documentation for accuracy
- Help support store financial targets and controllables
