About The Position

Advanced Medical Transport (AMT) is seeking Interfacility PRN EMT-Basic positions for their Illini Medical Transport service line in East Peoria. AMT is a private, not-for-profit organization that provides emergency and scheduled ambulance services. The Interfacility Transport EMT-Basics are responsible for patient care during interfacility transports among hospitals, nursing homes, private residences, and behavioral health facilities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
• Current EMT-Basic license in Illinois
• Current American Heart Association BLS CPR certification
• Must possess a valid Illinois driver's license
• Ability to bend, pull, push, and lift up to 100 pounds (subject to physical exam)
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions
• Demonstrated ability to implement clinical care in accordance with outlined policies and procedures
• Ability to exercise sound judgment while working in a stressful environment

Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor all patients as assigned to their care in standard with Peoria area EMS protocols and/or written physician orders.
• Assure the accuracy and completeness of all company and patient contact paperwork.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and perform all care with respect for patient rights, following all HIPAA guidelines.
• Transport patients in accordance with outlined policies and procedures.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and well-stocked environment in accordance with company vehicle check-off sheets and inventory requirements, including medication accountability each shift day.
• Operate and drive an ambulance in conjunction with applicable safety policies and state laws.
• Assist paramedics in all advanced life support situations.
• Maintain current certification(s) according to provisions set forth by the governing licensure that include a valid driver's license, EMT IDPH license, and BLS/CPR.
• Maintain a professional appearance and attitude at all times.
• Present and promote a positive company image.
• May be expected to attend public events on occasion.
