About The Position

Warren Consolidated Schools is seeking applicants for the position of Interdisciplinary Studies (IDS) for the 2026-2027 school year at the Macomb Mathematics Science Technology Center (MMSTC). This is a 1.0 FTE position. The IDS course is a project-based course that integrates mathematics, science, technology, engineering, and research. Students will apply classroom learning through scientific research, data analysis, computer science, engineering design, robotics, computer-aided design (CAD), manufacturing, and multimedia presentations. Students may use laboratory and shop facilities to design, prototype, and fabricate projects. The course emphasizes critical thinking, problem-solving, innovation, collaboration, and the real-world application of STEM concepts.

Requirements

  • Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with a secondary endorsement in grades 9-12.

Nice To Haves

  • Mathematics or Science endorsement preferred.
  • Collaborative member of the MMSTC team.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate, design, and evaluate curriculum and programs for the MMSTC.
  • Seek out grant funding.
  • Attend professional learning seminars.
  • Stay current with best practices in teaching and learning.
  • Seamlessly integrate technology into content areas (Mathematics, Science and Language Arts) through hands-on projects and higher-level learning outcomes.
