About The Position

AWARE is hiring a full-time Residential Specialist for its Adult DD Residential Services in Butte, Montana. The role provides support to adults with developmental disabilities, helping them build skills, grow personally, and participate in their communities. The position pays $28.00 per hour to start. The Residential Specialist implements individual support plans and behavioral supports under AWARE’s Unconditional Care Philosophy, helps maintain daily residential operations, and assists the Residential Manager with managerial and supervisory tasks as needed. The role requires accurate documentation, participation in required training, and use of AWARE’s electronic medical records system.

Requirements

At least three years of experience, or an associate degree in a Human Services field, or at least a bachelor’s degree in any field and a minimum of two years of appropriate, related Human Services experience.
Ability to implement individual support plans under AWARE’s Unconditional Care Philosophy, using knowledge of behavioral techniques, interventions, skill-building techniques, and the emotional and behavioral needs of individuals diagnosed with a developmental disability.
Computer literacy, including the ability to navigate and record information in performance-based software and an electronic medical records system.
Interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills to work as a team member, make observations and report them accurately, learn resident care methods, and follow oral and written instructions.

Responsibilities

Check daily documentation, including treatment plans, clinical notes, staff notes, and communication logs.
Ensure the appropriate weekly menu is posted and meals are properly prepared.
Organize structured group activities each day.
Assist with house cleaning and organization.
Assist with scheduling, interviews, training, and related matters.
Assist the Residential Manager with managerial and supervisory tasks as needed.
Use H.E.L.P., including therapeutic holds, when a resident is determined to be a danger to themselves or others; provide basic first aid and/or CPR when needed.
Attend and participate in mandatory training, in-services, staff meetings, and assigned corporate committees.
Complete required training and pass testing in H.E.L.P. (de-escalation and therapeutic holds), Medication Certification, First Aid/CPR, Blood Borne Pathogens, SHED Safety, Safe Vehicle Operations, Safety Data Sheet (SDS), HIPPA, Professional Care Giver, and AWARE’s Behavioral Competency (ABC).
Use AWARE’s Electronic Medical Records System and accurately record data as assigned, outlined, and trained.
